Key Responsibilities: The Director of Student Work Experiences drives the workforce development programming for Kingdom Prep in alignment with the third essential element of the vision: To be a place where young men develop their God-given gifts to engage in meaningful work.
- This individual is responsible for the continued development and execution of the student internship program for upperclassmen.
- Primary responsibilities include facilitating the process of identifying career avenues for our young men, bridging the gap to internship partners, and evaluating and coaching each young man and his parent through his internship. This individual drives the character curriculum designed to equip our young men with the soft skills necessary to be successful within the workforce.
- The Director of Student Work Experiences is also responsible for continually growing partnerships with current and new businesses and organizations to open up opportunities for young men to engage in meaningful work.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit and gain commitment from business leaders to support internship program efforts with an emphasis on targeting high need industry sectors that are representative of various career clusters and reflective of student interests
- Ensure records, reports and evaluation requirements are maintained for student growth and board evaluations
- Develop and deliver informational sessions and training opportunities to stakeholders including business partners, staff, parents and students
- Facilitate placement, hiring and onboarding process for all student interns
- Provide ongoing coaching to students (and parents) through their internship while utilizing weekly and monthly data from employers
- Perform regular data entry for all student intern needs including excusing students from class for internships, sending Friday attendance or evaluations to employers, tracking attendance, entering evaluation data and grades
- Professionally communicate overall internship accomplishments and updates via technical platforms
- Consistently assess the overall autopsy of the program and prepare accordingly for the following semesters
- Prepare and conduct weekly character sessions with all interns to equip them with strong workplace norm
- Manage payroll for internal internship opportunities
- Plan and execute quarterly internship information sessions and annual internship and career fair 12. Coordinate partnerships with extracurricular organizations for student career engagement
- Plan experiential opportunities for students to expose students to a wide variety of career avenues
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents and employers
- Regularly assess success of program and implement programmatic changes, as needed
- Track intern alumni in their endeavors on a quarterly basis
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a professional and flexible office environment, with or without visual and audible distractions
- Ability to work in multiple settings without a designated office space
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Means to travel between school and employer offices for various needs
- Ability to work year-round to provide internship opportunities to students at all times of the year, including over scheduled breaks and summer

- Ability to bridge learning gaps between interns seeking employment and employers in all professional contexts
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate interaction with the workforce ● Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor
- Advanced computer skills, including email, word processing, Google Suite and virtual meeting facilitation
- Facilitate an overall work environment of mutual respect and collaboration ● Ability to regularly collect and interpret data
- Ability to strategize with field Human Resources personnel and troubleshoot any challenges that may arise with location managers
- Ability to manage a caseload of at least 20 interns per semester
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, School Counseling, or Business Management is preferred.
- Prior experience working in education at the middle school or high school level is preferred.
- Experience with building and sustaining partnerships among businesses, community agencies, K-12 schools, and higher education is preferred.
