history: how kp came to be
Kingdom Prep Lutheran High School began because of an incredible opportunity gap for young men amongst us. Growing poverty rates, fewer intact family structures, complex social media trappings and a scarcity of seats at high-performing high schools in the area, thousands of young men were not equipped to succeed in life.
Kingdom Prep proposed a solution to these alarming societal realities. What if we offer the proper level of intentional support, resources, and Biblical training to empower young men to break dysfunctional cycles and blaze a new trail for future generations?
We believe that God called a generation of young men to lead the charge for transformation in our city. Thus, in 2017, Kingdom Prep’s Founding eighth graders built the school from the ground up, creating an educational system that addressed growing challenges and opportunities for young men to discover their purpose in life.
whole child approach: mind, body and soul
We create better men. Better sons, better fathers, better brothers. Because that’s transformational change.
The Kingdom Prep experience deliberately nurtures the mind, body, and soul of each brother through a whole-child approach. Activities that develop the unique talents and personalities of each young man include:
- Daily chapel/worship services
- Personalized talent development enrichment
- Celebration of Christian Brotherhood
- Outward bound expeditions and fieldwork
- Know Thyself counseling services
- School uniforms
- Authentic student agency and peer leadership
Seeking First the Kingdom of God
Kingdom Prep is committed to see each student develop his gifts and understand his purpose on the foundation of seeking first the Kingdom of God.
We exist to help young men grow in Godly wisdom, embracing a love for Jesus Christ and each other. Kingdom Prep brothers pursue excellence in everything with respect for all paths of post-secondary achievement. Whether that’s college, trade school, social entrepreneurship, or something altogether different, the ultimate goal is for each student to develop his gifts to pursue the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first.
Through our Christ-centered curriculum, our young men go forth to lead in their homes, serve in the church, engage in meaningful work, and transform the community.
Our next chapters are ready to be written. And it starts now, with us.
